As I’m sure you are aware we have not been able to have any monthly meetings since the first lockdown in March 2020.
Going forward it is unlikely that we would be able to have meetings in a safe environment for some time yet, especially as we are classed as a vulnerable group of people.
Your committee met on 20/11/21 and discussed the current feasibility of our group, besides the current difficulties the pandemic has posed, it was noted that numbers attending our meetings had been declining and providing ‘new’ speakers was getting increasingly difficult. Taking all things in to consideration the committee concluded that it was not viable to continue with the group and therefore with deep regret and sadness have taken the difficult decision to close the PADDS group from 31/12/21.
Financial accounts will be completed to the 31/12/21 and the funds that are available to PADDS at that time will be donated to a Diabetics UK.
We would like to thank everyone in our group and our previous committee members for their commitment and especially thank our founder members, Julie Couchman, Tony Martin, Chris Martin and Maria Lynch in forming the group in 2012 and setting us on our way.
It has been a pleasure serving as committee members for this group and we are sure that over the last 9 years we have been able to support our members with diabetes and hopefully made a small difference to your lives.
